Shrugs and Kisses

This little flirty top is a part of summer knits collection, “La Isla Bonita”, and as other pieces in the collection, it is knit with fingering weight/4-ply yarn to a DK gauge and requires just 1-2 balls of yarn.

My daughter is really into “tiny little shrugs” as she calls them. They are so easy to wear and she loves to wear them on top of her dresses to make them look “fancy” or on top of her T-shirt to make the outfit look “cool”.

Originally this shrug was published with Classic Elite Yarns as “Nala”, but now that copyright has reverted back to me, I am republishing this design with some slight improvements and additional sizes.

The design has slightly unusual construction, unique silhouette, and is easy to make for a beginner knitter while still challenging enough for a seasoned one.

We love this shrug to pieces!  I hope you will too!

Pattern Notes
The vest has a very simple construction and is worked bottom up in stockinette stitch and is completely seamless.
Once the vest is knit to the underarms, the fronts and back are worked individually and separately.
Once each piece has been worked for the sufficient length for the armhole depth, fronts are grafted to the back at the shoulders.
Sleeves cuffs are picked up and worked in the round in 2x2 rib.

Collar and edging are picked up next and are worked flat in 2x2 rib.
