Queen Of The Waves

This little flirty top is a part of summer knits collection, “La Isla Bonita”, and as other pieces in the collection, it is knit with fingering weight/4-ply yarn to a DK gauge and requires just 1-2 balls of yarn.
Working with fine yarn to a bigger gauge creates a light, airy garment, and Queen of the Waves is all that – a perfect little summer shrug.

The shrug is worked as a top down raglan, features sliding belt buckle as a closure or button closures (you decide which suits you the best), and a Seafoam lace for sleeve cuffs (optional). Knitted on beads add a sparkle to the garment and are an optional feature, though come highly recommended by my water baby you see here.

Pattern Notes
·         The shrug is worked as a top down raglan in fingering weight yarn worked up to a DK gauge.
·         You can use self-striping yarn, one color, 2 colors, or as many colors as you like. This pattern is great for using up your fingering weight scraps.
·         Alternatively, you can make this shrug using a Sport or DK yarn at a DK gauge.
·         If you are using 2 colors, you can either use one color as MC and another one as a trim color or you can alternate colors every 2 rows (2 row stripes sequence).
·         You will have an option to have a belt buckle for closure or buttons.
·         Sizes NB -18m should only be worked with button closure option.
·         You will have an option to make simple sleeves or lace sleeves.
·         You will have an option to add knitted on beads to the shrug around the neckline.
