Breezy Summer Skirt

My little girl loves to wear twirly and girly dresses and skirts.  I try to keep up with her demands by designing more and more skirts for her.

I hope you enjoy the pattern too!

The pattern was worked around 2 factors:
Ø  the lace pattern in between the eyelets is a 12 st repeat, so the number of stitches before the lace starts should be a multiple of 12;
Ø  the lace edging at the end is a multiple of 4.
So when you knit your skirt keep these two things in mind, and you will be able to customize the fit of the garment.

  1. Hi, I'm relatively new to knitting still (but have managed to get the hang of circular needles and lace already) My step daughter is 8 and ADORES this pattern but I don't know how to size it up...could you help please? she has an average 6 year old waist but scarily long legs :) x

  2. I am knitting this pattern and Have torn it back several times because I find the instructions confusing. I am knitting the 2-3T size starting with 100 stitches. I do the first increase row, so now I have 104 stitches. The pattern says to keep knitting "in the established fashion for 0 (5, 5, 6, 6, 6) rounds."

    Then the next increase for 1-2T says I will have 120 stitches. That implies I have done 3 increase rounds in the five previous rounds... does this mean I increase every other row?

    I would like to get past this point! Please help.
